DRL Removal FAQ: By Keith Kozma
I know alot of people like their DRL's, but I am not one of those people. After reading that I would have to de-solder stuff I got discouraged. I have VERY nervouse hands and am lucky I can hold a soldering iron still!
Tools Needed: Soldering iron, Solder Wick (see below for catalog number), and a T25 Torx screw driver
Step 1: Open your fuse panel door.

Step 2: Carefully pull off the whole plastic side piece.

Step 3: Remove your Headlight Switch. This is done by pushing in the switch and turning clockwise to release the catches. Simply pull it out.

Step 4: Remove the two screws holding the fuse panel down and CAREFULLY push it out of the way.

Step 5: Locate Relay 173 and yank that bad boy out!

Step 6: Carefully open up the relay.

Step 7: Using Desoldering Braid aka Solder Wick (Radio Shack Cat. # 910-0041) locate the points illustrated and desolder them.

Step 8: Carefully pull the relay off the circuit board and put it away for safe keeping. You don't want to break anything now! Put the cover back on the relay and you're done. If you do this mod properly and carefully, you should be able to put everything back to its original state sometime down the road.

Step 9: Plug the relay back into the relay panel and put everything back together! You now have NO DRL's but your parking brake indicator still works!
